1918: Mass meeting held in Everett for relief of starving Jews in Europe.
1919: Sgt. Charles Marshall is awarded the French Croix-de-Guerre with silver star for his actions in October 1918 when, during operations in the Belieu Woods north of Verdun, he voluntarily braved enemy fire to recover a severely wounded comrade and carry him to safety.
1943: Bosun William Hutton of Everett is killed when the SS James Sprunt an ammunition ship, blew up, when torpedoed by U-185 off Cape Maysi, Cuba.
